Becoming an Educator


Would you like to join a service where three of our educators were awarded educator of the year in 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022?

 As an educator you will benefit from the following:

  • The primary responsibility of and Educator is to cater for the developmental and welfare needs of children.

This requires the Educator to:

  • Comply with Children Services Act and Children Services Regulations

  • Connect positively with the child in terms of the child’s Language, cultural practices, needs, and behaviour management

  • Provide a safe home environment where the children are free from harm at all times

  • Keep qualifications and training up to date

  • Document Child development needs

  • Meet the requirements of the National Quality Framework

  • Comply with Wyndham Early Learning FDC Policies and Procedures

  • Have current Public Liability Insurance

  • Implement development programs for all ages

  • Attend professional development training when required


We have simplified the process into the following ten steps:


1:  Register your interest through the Contact Us tab.

2: Wyndham Early Learning FDC reviews your Expression of Interest.

3: Attend an interview and information session on becoming an educator.

4: Home Safety Inspection by Wyndham Early Learning Coordination Unit.

5: If you have not yet done so, apply for Working with Children Check, Police Check, Child Protection Training Certificate and Medical clearance. Working with Children check is also required for adults (18 years or more) living in your home.

6: Submit all required certificates: First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis. Must be enrolled or completed in  Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or Diploma Early Childhood Education and Care (or similar).

7: Complete any items that have been identified in Home Safety Check and contact coordination unit for re-inspection.

8: Orientation session will be held at your home. Wyndham Early Learning FDC will issue all the relevant forms, posters and USB at this session.

9. Obtain Public Liability Insurance. This must be obtained before you can commence working. You must also apply for an ABN.

10: Meet the families. Ensure Parent/Educator agreement are in place before commencing with families.
